another how'd they do it 4 Years, 9 Months ago
I see some similarities in these photos as with another photog.....like this pic:

what was the lighting and the tones and how'd he edit it, did he desaturate some of the colors? and sharpen? I have been trying to get this sorta look for a while....

this pic same sorta thing:

a cross between patrick hoelck and Dave Hill:
Dave Hill:

Patrick Hoelck:

this photo I noticed a difference in the sky on the left as opposed to the right:

or am I seeing things?

Softbox + honeycombed bare bulb or parabolic dish?

anyway really like the lighting and editing.....thanks

you can actually see his port here:

The first, third, and fourth photos look like he used strobes, the exact set up of which I am not cetain. The second photo could be reproduced with two softboxes. The photographer most likely shot the photos in raw, and during post-process, he most likely desaturated certain colors, especially red to give the skin tones that pale-ish silvery look. Nice choice of photos to look for inspiration in. I'd be interested to know how they were produce myself.

In camera raw, the trick here is to crank up the vibrance and desaturate at the same time. You can also bring up the blacks a little. After that, a lot of burning and dodging.

Also you can try in Photoshop:
Copy the photo layer
Make this layer black and white and set it to overlay.
Play around with the opacity
Flatten layers and tweak your curves.

I guess you can use the layer option in photoshop as pihjin worte. you might try to set this black & white layer as "soft light". It might also interessting to use a filter on this black & white layer, specially under filter "others" than "high pass"
hope this helps you to find a right color.
